Our Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how California Recovery Center (“CRC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a California corporation headquartered in Roseville, California, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information through calrecoverycenter.com and any other websites, landing pages, or online forms that link to this Policy (collectively, the “Site”). It also describes the privacy rights available to California residents. 

Related notices. This Policy works together with two separate documents: our Cookie Policy, which lists the specific cookies and similar technologies used on the Site, and our Notice of Privacy Practices, which governs protected health information (“PHI”) that CRC creates or receives as a health care provider. 

Scope and relationship to HIPAA. This Policy applies to information collected through the Site from website visitors and prospective patients. It does not govern PHI, which is addressed by the Notice of Privacy Practices. Information that is medical information under California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) or PHI under HIPAA is exempt from the California Consumer Privacy Act to the extent those laws apply. 

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically as you use the Site, and information from third parties. In the last twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information (as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, “CCPA/CPRA”): 

• Category A – Identifiers: name, postal address, email address, telephone number, IP address, and similar identifiers. 
• Category B – Customer records (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)): name, address, telephone number, insurance information, and, where you provide it, Social Security or government ID numbers. 
• Category C – Protected classification characteristics: age, and, where voluntarily provided, characteristics such as veteran status or medical condition. 
• Category D – Commercial information: records of services inquired about or requested. 
• Category F – Internet or other electronic network activity: browsing activity, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, and interactions with our Site collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4 and our Cookie Policy). 
• Category G – Geolocation data: approximate location derived from IP address. 
• Category H – Sensory data: audio recordings of telephone calls placed to or from numbers displayed on the Site, where recording is used for quality and training purposes. 
• Category I – Professional or employment information: where voluntarily provided, e.g., in a careers or referral form. 
• Category K – Inferences: inferences drawn from the above to understand interest in our services. 

Sensitive Personal Information. Some information above may be “sensitive personal information” under the CPRA, including Social Security or government ID numbers and, where you choose to provide it, health information. We use and disclose sensitive personal information only for the purposes permitted under the CPRA and to provide the services you request. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. See Section 7 for your right to limit its use. 

Sources. We obtain personal information directly from you (through forms, calls, and chats), automatically through your use of the Site, and from service providers such as our analytics, advertising, and call-tracking vendors. 

How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes: 

• To respond to your inquiries, connect you with our admissions team, and provide information about treatment and services you request. 
• To verify insurance benefits when you ask us to. 
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services. 
• To measure and improve our marketing, including understanding which campaigns and pages lead to inquiries. 
• To communicate with you, including by email, phone, or text where you have provided the required consent. 
• To detect and prevent fraud, protect the security of our systems, and enforce our Terms of Use. 
• To comply with law and respond to lawful requests, court orders, and government regulations. 

How We Share Personal Information

We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients: 

• Service providers that perform functions on our behalf under written contracts limiting their use of the information — for example, website hosting, form processing, customer-relationship management, analytics, and call tracking. 
• Advertising and analytics partners that provide measurement and, in some cases, cross-context behavioral advertising (see Section 4 and our Cookie Policy). 
• Professional advisors and authorities where necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect our rights, users, or the public. 
• In a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy. 

We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of certain advertising cookies and pixels may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. See Section 4 for how to opt out. 

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure performance, and support advertising. These fall into categories of strictly necessary, functional, analytics, performance, and advertising technologies. 

Full cookie list. The specific cookies we use — including their providers, purposes, and durations — are listed in our separate Cookie Policy at https://calrecoverycenter.com/resources/cookie-policy/, which is maintained through our consent management platform (CookieYes). Analytics and advertising technologies we use include Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, and CallRail, together with any additional providers identified in the Cookie Policy. 

Managing cookies. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through our cookie banner and change your choices at any time using the “Consent Preferences” link on the Site. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function properly if certain cookies are disabled. 

Opt out of advertising “sharing.” To opt out of the use of advertising cookies that may constitute sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, decline advertising cookies in the cookie banner, use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the Site footer, or enable an opt-out preference signal as described below. 

Global Privacy Control. We honor opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), for the browser and device on which they are enabled, as an opt-out of sale/sharing. 

Call recording. Calls to or from numbers shown on the Site may be recorded for quality and training. You will be notified where required to be recorded. 

Data Retention

We retain personal information collected through our website only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain appropriate business records. In general, inquiry and contact information is retained for up to 36 months after our last interaction with you, unless a longer retention period is required by law or necessary to protect our legal interests.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA, subject to certain exceptions: 

• Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients. 
• Right to delete personal information we have collected from you. 
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information. 
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising. 
• Right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to permitted purposes. 
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. 

Exercising your rights. You may submit a request by emailing info@calrecoverycenter.com or calling (866) 864-1986. To opt out of sharing for advertising, use the “[Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information]” link in the Site footer or enable GPC. We will verify your request using information we have on file and will respond within 45 days, with one 45-day extension where reasonably necessary. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proper authorization. 

Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it. 

Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not submit sensitive health details through general website forms; use the secure methods our admissions team provides. 

Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites and services that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them. 

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where required, communicated to you.
